The short version. Your library is yours. We do not sell it, do not advertise against it, and do not use it to train anything. You can download everything we hold about you, and close your account, from your own account page, without asking anybody.
1. Who handles your data
This installation of RwezeVault is operated by its Administrator, who decides why and how your data is processed here. The software is made by Rweze. Questions, and any request under Section 7, go to the Administrator, or to Rweze at florian@rweze.com.
2. What is collected, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and e-mail address | To have an account at all, and to write to you about it | Until you close the account |
| Your password, stored only as a one-way hash | To let you in, and nobody else | Until you close the account |
| What you save, write, tag and highlight | To give you the library you came for | Until you delete it, or close the account |
| Your settings — language, theme, country, interests | To show you the platform the way you asked for it | Until you change or close the account |
| Sign-in records: time, browser, and the address you connected from | Security — so you can see who has been in your account, and so an attack can be spotted | A limited period set by the Administrator |
| An audit trail of actions taken on the platform | Accountability, and to be able to answer “who did this?” | A limited period set by the Administrator |
| Payment records — amount, currency, method, reference | To sell you a subscription, and to keep the accounts | As long as the applicable accounting rules require |
| Technical logs | To keep the platform working and to find faults | Rotated automatically |
| Limited first-party product signals — product area, event type, pseudonymous session, device class and time | To understand adoption, reliability and whether approved growth actions work | 30–730 days, set by the Administrator; you can opt out in Settings |
We do not collect your location from your IP address, and product intelligence never stores typed text, searches, article titles, full URLs or IP addresses. We use no advertising or third-party analytics trackers and there are no third-party cookies. The only cookie the platform sets is the one that keeps you signed in.
3. Why we are allowed to do this
We process your data because it is necessary to give you the service you asked for and to run the account you opened; because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure and working, which we have weighed against your interests; because you have consented, for anything optional you switched on yourself; and because the law sometimes requires it, for example of accounting records.
4. Who else sees it
Nobody, except: the hosting provider on whose machines the platform runs; a payment provider, if you choose to pay through one, which receives only what is needed to take the payment; and an AI or search provider, if the Administrator has switched one on and you use a feature that needs it — which receives only the content you submit to that feature at that moment. Each of those sees a part, not your library.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We would disclose data if a valid legal order required it, and would tell you unless we were prohibited from doing so.
When compact article pictures are enabled, RwezeVault fetches publisher images through its own server, resizes them and keeps temporary cached copies. This saves bandwidth and prevents the publisher from receiving your IP address or the address of the page you are reading. When you explicitly request an article translation, the article title and text are sent to the configured AI provider; the result is stored with your article and reused rather than sent again.
5. Where it is
Your data is stored on the servers this installation runs on. Where a feature sends content to a provider in another country, that transfer happens because you used that feature. If you would rather it did not, do not use that feature: the rest of the platform works without it.
6. How it is protected
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and are never recoverable, by us or by anybody. Optional two-factor authentication is available to every account and can be required of administrators. Every session can be listed and ended from your own settings. The platform keeps its own logs and audit trail, and warns the Administrator about problems it detects. No system is perfectly secure; we tell you plainly rather than promise otherwise.
7. What you can do about it
From your own account page, without asking anybody and without giving a reason, you can:
- See it — everything you have saved is in your library, and your sign-in history is in your settings;
- Take it — download one file containing every record the platform holds about you, in a format any program can read;
- Correct it — change your name, e-mail, and every setting;
- Delete it — delete anything you saved; deleted items sit in your trash for a set period, and can be destroyed immediately from there;
- Leave — close your account. It switches off at once and is erased after a short grace period.
Where the law that applies to you gives you further rights — to object to processing, to have it restricted, or to complain to a supervisory authority — those rights apply, and we will honour them. Write to the Administrator or to Rweze; we answer within 30 days.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has an account here, tell the Administrator and it will be closed and erased.
9. Automated decisions
Nothing on this platform makes a decision about you automatically that has a legal or similarly significant effect. What is chosen for you — the headlines on your dashboard, the sources suggested to you — is chosen from the country and the interests you entered yourself, and you can change or clear both at any time.
10. Language
This notice is published in several languages for your convenience. The English version is the version that governs. If a translation differs from it in meaning, the English version prevails.
11. Changes
If this notice changes in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you inside the platform before the change takes effect. The current version is always on this page, with the date above.
12. Contact
The Administrator of this installation, or Rweze at florian@rweze.com.
